The DC implemented the new standardized emails and Google Workspace.
Former DC Co-Chair, Dr. Marie Mesidor attended Division 12’s Interdivisional Advocacy Task Force meetings as a Division 18 DC representative.
The DC welcomed a representative of Indian Country to the DC committee with whom we share 25% of DC funding, to support awareness about current topics and issues impacting Native psychologists, clients, and communities, and to help retain Native members to the Division.
The DC collaborated with APA’s Committee of Women in Psychology to facilitate discussion on intersection of mental health, law, and social justice during the 2023 APA Convention DC social hour. During this social hour, Dr. Charlotte McCloskey’s work on missing and murdered indigenous and Black women and girls was also presented.
DC members, Dr. Billie Jo Kipp and Ph D student, Induni Wickramasinghe have been participating in Division of Social Justice (DSJ) meetings.
The DC’s Mission Statement was reviewed and revised.
The drafting of the DC’s Strategic Plan has been initiated.
With efforts lead by current DC Co-Chair, Dr. Annie Tang, the DC has also collaborated with Divisions 12, 28, 45 and 50 to develop the Promoting Underrepresented Minorities in Psychology (PUMP) mentorship program.
