The CSH Section consists of students and psychologists across all levels of training and practice who work in state and community hospitals across the United States. Our membership is involved in a variety of professional activities, including clinical work, research, teaching, supervision, advocacy, consultation, program development, and administration and leadership.
The CSH membership is united in our mission to promote and improve recovery-oriented, evidence-based, and culturally humble services for people with serious mental illness in hospital settings. As psychologists in public service, we take seriously our responsibility to advocate on behalf of patients and families, provide high-quality training opportunities for future psychologists, and elevate the voices of those with lived experience in all our professional endeavors.
The CSH membership is involved in multiple efforts to further our mission, including offering quarterly SMI-focused webinars, collaborating on research projects and presenting our work at conferences, partnering with other Division 18 sections and other organizations (e.g., The SMI Specialty Council), and supporting one another in our work.
The CSH Section welcomes new student members and professional members who share a passion for our mission and our work! Our monthly section calls are held via zoom on the first Thursday of each month at 1PM EST/2 PM CST, and we would love to see you there. Our membership is always excited to welcome new members with fresh ideas and diverse experiences to our Section.
